Becoming a member
This Learn to Sail program is offered by Greenwich Flying Squadron, a community not-for-profit club, run by volunteers. However the courses are staffed by professional accredited instructor/coaches.
Our constitution requires that everyone using the facilities must be a member. By registering for this course, the children and one adult are provided a free annual associate membership as part of the course fees (valued at $110 each).
If you are registering more than one child, you may wish to register each separately so both parents obtain their free membership (see Parents for details of membership benefits).
For insurance reasons, every sailor at the club must also have an Australian Sailing number. AS is the national body for sailing in Australia. If your child is not an Australian Sailing member already this number will be issued by Australian Sailing once your registration for the course has been accepted.
Registration Process
The process for registering for this course is as follows:
1. Complete the registration form on this page.
2. If you or your children are new to sailing we will register your name(s) with Australian Sailing on your behalf and issue you with a number.
3. If you are new to Greenwich Flying Squadron, we will issue you a membership number and website logon details.
4. We then undertake a short internal process to approve your memberships.
5. We then send you an email providing you with all the above details and a link to our online payment facility to pay for the course.
6. Once we have received your payment, we will confirm your place in the course. In the event the course is oversubscribed, we will not process your payment and place your child on a waiting list. We will contact you if a place becomes available.
